Sunday, GSCS 6th graders leave for the annual Junior Deputy Trip to Washington D.C. Did you know this is the 75th year of this annual trip!!! We'd like to collect photos from throughout the years. Share your photos from past trips to D.C. at jrdeputyprogram@spaldingcounty.com

Select 8th graders from all four GSCS middle schools experienced georgia history in our own city today as authors Joseph McGill and Herb Frazier spoke to them at the Bailey Tebault House. Thanks to Griffin Historical Society, UGA Griffin and other partners for this field trip.

What a great day our GSCS Exceptional Students had at the Special Olympics Track & Field Event today at Spalding High! Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so fun and special for our students!

We enjoyed a visit from our mascot this morning! Thanks to those who helped corral her! #mustangonthemove #M4L

Yearbooks are on sale now!

The 7th graders got their hands dirty building mini-composters for their wiggly friends. Over the next few weeks the kids will make observations about decomposition and the roles decomposers play in food chains. When finished, the compost will be ready for gardening.

These Mustangs are Leading the Charge! They represent our core values: Learn, Lead, Serve, and Grow. Congratulations, Mustangs! #M4L

On Monday, April 8, 2024, a partial solar eclipse will pass over North America, between 1:45 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., with the sky becoming darkest at the peak of 3:04 p.m. This is our first day back from Spring Break and will be a normal school day for our district. School operations, including check-in and check-out procedures, and all extra-curricular and athletic events will continue as normal. To ensure a safe school day and dismissal, solar-viewing glasses will be provided to all Pre-K through 12th-grade students and teachers.
While this natural phenomenon does provide a unique learning opportunity and is an exciting experience for our students, we urge parents to review the attached safety precautions and discuss them with your child(ren) to ensure the safety of their eyes.
To make this a safe and meaningful learning experience for our students, instructional activities and resources can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D2as73oMt0Z0k5I_zlHovdgzoZReXUxTII8DndGbRLY/edit
